Boudoir in the Bush: Where Photography, 4x4s & Community Came Together

Sometimes the best ideas are the ones that sound a little crazy at first.

Take a group of women, a few 4x4s, boudoir photography, the BC backcountry and a whole lot of mud, and you get Boudoir in the Bush — one of our favourite events we've had the opportunity to create and photograph.

Held at Hale Creek in beautiful British Columbia, Boudoir in the Bush was created to be different from a traditional boudoir session. We wanted to take the confidence and empowerment behind boudoir photography and bring it somewhere completely unexpected: the trails.

And it turned into a pretty incredible day.

More Than a Photoshoot

From the beginning, Boudoir in the Bush wasn't meant to be about getting the "perfect" photo.

It was about getting outside your comfort zone.

We wanted women to be able to show up exactly as they are, have fun, meet other women, get a little dirty and walk away seeing themselves differently than they did when they arrived.

There were 4x4s, beautiful outdoor locations, drinks, giveaways, group photos and plenty of laughs throughout the day.

Some women came comfortable in front of the camera. Others were doing something completely outside their comfort zone.

Watching that nervousness turn into confidence as the day went on was easily one of the best parts for us.

A Collaboration Between Local Brands & Community

One of the things we love most at Dynasty Media is finding ways for businesses and community organizations to work together in ways that actually make sense.

Boudoir in the Bush was a perfect example of that.

The event brought together Dynasty Media, Dynasty Glass and the BC 4x4 Women's Association, combining three very different worlds into one experience.

Dynasty Media handled the creative side of the event, including photography, content and bringing the overall concept to life.

Dynasty Glass brought its connection to BC's automotive and off-road community and helped support the event.

And our collaboration with the BC 4x4 Women's Association helped connect the event with an incredible community of women who share a love for 4x4s, adventure and getting outside.

A portion of the event proceeds also went back to the association to help support the work they do within the off-road community.

For us, that's what a good collaboration should look like.

It's not just putting a few logos on a poster.

It's finding brands and organizations with a common audience, creating something people genuinely want to be part of, and making sure the community benefits from it too.

Boudoir... But Make It 4x4

We knew from the start that we didn't want this to feel like a traditional indoor boudoir session.

The entire point was the contrast.

Soft, feminine photography against mud, trees, rocks, trails and 4x4s.

Instead of a studio backdrop, we had the BC wilderness.

Instead of trying to keep everything perfectly clean, we embraced the dirt.

And instead of asking everyone to fit into one definition of what boudoir is supposed to look like, we encouraged each woman to make the experience her own.

That contrast created some of our favourite images from the day.

It was feminine and rugged.

Confident and playful.

A little messy — in the best possible way.

And completely different.

Creating an Environment Where Women Could Feel Comfortable

Boudoir photography can be intimidating, especially if you've never done anything like it before.

Creating a comfortable environment was incredibly important to us.

The event itself was run by women, and we worked to create a relaxed atmosphere where nobody felt like they had to know how to pose or look a certain way.

Because you don't need modelling experience to have amazing photos of yourself.

Our job as photographers is to help with the posing, find the angles, make you laugh when you're feeling awkward and eventually get you to forget that there's even a camera there.

The best photos usually happen after that.

Why Events Like This Matter to Dynasty Media

Boudoir in the Bush represents a lot of what we want Dynasty Media to be about.

Yes, we're a Langley-based media company offering photography, videography, content creation, branding, websites and digital marketing.

But we don't want to just create content for the sake of filling a social media feed.

We want to create things that people actually remember.

Sometimes that's a branding shoot for a local business.

Sometimes it's a commercial video.

Sometimes it's helping a company completely rethink its online presence.

And sometimes it's taking a bunch of women and their rigs into the bush for a boudoir photoshoot.

We're good with that too.

The Power of Local Collaboration

This event was also a reminder of what can happen when local businesses and community organizations stop looking at everything as a transaction and start looking for ways to build something together.

Dynasty Media brought the creative.

Dynasty Glass brought the automotive community.

The BC 4x4 Women's Association brought an incredible group of women together.

Each organization brought something different to the table, and together we were able to create an experience that none of us would have created in quite the same way alone.

That's the kind of marketing we love.

Real people. Real businesses. Real communities. And content that comes naturally from bringing them together.

What's Next? Boudoir in the Shop.

After Boudoir in the Bush, we started thinking...

Okay, how do we make the next one even more different?

So we're trading the trails for the shop.

Introducing Boudoir in the Shop — our next creative boudoir experience, bringing the same confidence, fun and outside-your-comfort-zone energy into a completely different setting.

This time, think rigs, colourful photography lights, smoke, tools, windshields and an industrial auto shop backdrop.

It's gritty.

It's colourful.

It's feminine.

And it's definitely not your typical boudoir session.

Just like Boudoir in the Bush, no modelling experience is needed. We'll help with posing and guide you throughout the entire shoot. You just need to show up ready to try something different.

And yes — all vehicles are welcome.

Bring your Jeep, truck, car, 4x4 or whatever you love driving and make it part of your shoot.

Let's create something people remember.
